What to Expect.

Initial Get Together

We have probably chatted for a few minutes in person or by phone, and you have the client introductory packet in hand.  Before any workouts can occur at Heart to Heart Fitness, we require an interview where we go over history and medical issues as well as profile your exercise and nutrition history.  You must read and sign the consent and release form.  If your medical history indicates any further issues this may delay our first workout.  But I’m here for your safety and we are in it for the long haul and your safety is the highest concern for me.  Not only does this requirement follow professional protocol but I can’t create the safest and most effective program for you until this information is obtained.  I won’t let you start with my services – although I am excited as you are to begin the program – until I am confident that you can progress safely.

   Our first meeting will take approximately thirty to forty five minutes to complete.  It is fun and introspective and will fuel you towards the goals and expectations you have and we can accomplish together. 

   The initial six weeks including your introductory meeting is at no charge.  I will be able to set up our first workout and nutrition plan upon completion of our introductory meeting. Your best interest and wellbeing are at the top of my agenda.

THE FIRST WORKOUT

   I am so confident in being able to make a huge difference in your workout s and health that I believe this first workout will be the beginning of a long term relationship.  This workout id the beginning of a process where we work as a team (client and trainer) to define your goals interests and desires.  Over time, well outline your program plan to achieve the results you are looking for.

   Many first timers worry that they need to be in shape before coming to me.  I t is my job to progress you slowly and meet you where your health and fitness needs are today.  You first session will be a workout not a wipeout.

   Generally I will not put you through a gauntlet on your first day… give yourself time to get into a routine. Fitness testing with me is not diagnostic It doesn’t evaluate whether you have health risk. This should be done in a medical setting.  I do however have a nursing assistant certificate which has allowed me the ability to check all your vitals during a workout and observe more diligently for signs of distress.  I find this helps my morbidly obese clients to have confidence in my ability to look after your complete wellbeing. 

WORKOUT APPERAL

   There are no crowds or prime time at the gym or your home so “Dress to impress” is out!  Wear workout attire that is comfortable.  Clean t shirts, shorts, tights, sweats or tracksuits are the rule. Athletic shoes should be supportive and functional. Please be considerate of others with this regard.  If you have questions about the appropriateness of your work out gear ASK ME!

GEAR

   Deodorant is a must for both you and I as we will be working in close proximity to each other.  Please don’t wear perfume as what you like may be offensive to others.  Dental Hygiene is also very important for you and I, sugar free mint gum or cinnamon is a favorite to keep saliva flowing through an exercise.  Bring a Water bottle and small towel for sweat, and if we go to the gym a lock for your locker. 

Basic Program Policies

   Our workout is based on a fifty minute hour although shorter options are available.  To get the most out of your time and efforts please be ready to exercise at the appointed time.  I schedule clients before and after you work out times cannot be extended.  If I am late for any reason I will extend your workout if possible and regardless you will receive a free and complimentary workout.  I want your commitment and you have mine!

   If you must cancel any appointment there will be not fee to do so within a 24 hour notice.  You are allowed one late cancellation per four workouts.  The Full Session WILL be charged at $25.00 for any cancellation with less than 24 hour notice.  Excessive cancellation regardless of notice time and resultant payment will risk termination.  Your progress will not be as successful obviously; I want the best for you and your health. 

   If you have not entered into an agreement for services to be paid in advance payment is expected upon receipt of the invoice charged on a two week cycle. 

   I accept Cash, checks, money order, visa master card and discover as payment. 

   The training location will be where you feel most comfortable; at my house your house or another specified location.
